Responsible Gambling

The AGLC is committed to responsible gambling.

On its own, and in conjunction with industry partners, the AGLC has developed the following programs and initiatives to help licensees and the public meet the social responsibility requirements set out in legislation, regulation and policy:

  • GameSense Info Centres in casinos and RECs;
  • GamTalk - Online Support Forum has been launched as Canada's first moderated, national support forum for gamblers to discuss concerns, ask questions and get advice online. Counsellors monitor the site 24/7 and if a crisis or any other situation occurs, the counsellors are there to support the users. The Canadian Partnership for Responsible Gambling, of which AGLC is a member, is supporting GamTalk through a one-year sponsorship agreement.
  • Self-Exclusion Program.

Problem and Responsible Gambling Strategy

The purpose of the 2015-2020 Problem and Responsible Gambling Strategy is to continually review emerging trends and issues in the areas of problem and responsible gambling to ensure a mutual understanding and commitment to related priorities and actions.
